The referencing of AI-generated images has led scientists and researchers to misidentify specimens, resulting in the propagation of errors, reduced observational skills, and bodily harm. 

This research brings awareness to the misidentification of scientific specimens when using AI-generated images. We will explore the history and importance of scientific illustration and how it has been used by scientists and researchers to document and learn about the world around them.
