Deliverable 6: AI-Generated Human Eye
Lastly, I prompted
Gemini to generate an image of a human eye
with the same specifications as my reference and
hand-painted illustration. Much like the examples
covered in the case study, the AI had trouble with
the main body of the image. The image shows an
additional organ sprouting from the lower middle
of the sclera and overlapping with the middle of
the lower lid. Though this mystery organ could
be interpreted as a misplaced, duplicate tear duct,
it has no understandable purpose in a diagram
of the eye’s exterior. The research suggests that
depicting false organs is a common error with
AI-generative programs in medical diagrams.
